If you are left handed, the best feature of the Wacom Intuos4 Large however, is it’s ambidextrous interface. Most tablets, (including the Intuos3) have the control buttons on one side or the top. Both these arrangements present a huge difficulty for left handed operators and as you’ll agree, there are a lot of them in the creative industry. The Wacom Intuos4 Large solves this issue with a solution that’s about as simple as the problem itself. It has a uniform set of buttons that still work the same when you turn the device 180 degrees. You just need to change the settings in the software and the buttons can be configured to correspond to any function as the user sees fit. Even the LED display beside the button inverts itself and reflects the new button assignments.

The units best feature over all is that it works very well. The highly fluid pen without skips is critical and this pen tablet excels in that. The large screen simply makes it easier to draw via the computer. Plus, having one of these is just cool outright.

Unlike the Intuos3, the Wacom Intuos4 Large has a surface and pen tip that closely simulate the feeling ofIntuos4 Wheel Controller writing or drawing on real paper. The Intuos3′s surface is a bit more glazed and and the pen slides more smoothly on it. However, this isn’t necessarily an ideal quality for illustrators and digital artists. If you want to feel like you’re drawing on paper, the Wacom Intuos4 Large gives you exactly that. The nib wears out fast, but you have enough replacements packed right inside the pen holder and they’ll keep you going for a long time before you need replacement nibs.

I decided on the large tablet because i wanted more control over my editing. The larger screen does help me to gain the higher resolution and to better edit along the edge of the image. This size works out well for me.

The Wacom Intuos4 Large ensures you don’t have to jump between your keyboard and tablet for complex commands. The programmable buttons on the tablet and the pen give you more than enough control to work solely from the tablet and use the keyboard only rarely.
